Head of Commercial – Emerging Markets
Ratish Trehan is the Head of Commercial – Emerging Markets (Designate) at Biocon Biologics. He is responsible for growing the Company’s business in Emerging Markets, broadening its presence, and enhancing patient-focused initiatives in these regions.
Ratish Trehan is a seasoned pharma C-suite leader with over 25 years of global expertise spanning Europe, Russia, CIS, Africa, Asia and Latin America. He has a proven track record in driving commercial growth, building iconic brands, spearheading strategic initiatives, and leading high-performing multicultural and multifunctional teams to create sustainable stakeholder value.
In over two decades in the pharma industry, Ratish has managed diverse portfolios, in both Non-Communicable Disease and Infectious Disease Areas, with revenues of up to $500 million.
Before joining Biocon Biologics in December 2024, Ratish served as Senior Vice President, Head of Asia, at Viatris (formerly Mylan). He successfully integrated large-scale acquisitions and revitalized brands across critical therapeutic areas such as Infectious Diseases and Biosimilars.
He has also worked with Piramal Critical Care, Lupin, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Ranbaxy Laboratories and Siemens Telecom, where he built new capabilities and spearheaded business growth.
Ratish has helmed market entry strategies and expansion into new disease areas, and leveraged digital and multi-channel approaches to develop patient-focused solutions. Leading teams with as many as 1,500 members, he is adept at enhancing operational efficiency and driving innovation.
Throughout his career, Ratish has demonstrated his deep commitment to enhancing healthcare access and efficiency. Collaborating with governments, financial institutions, and advocacy groups, he has improved regulatory compliance, streamlined healthcare systems, and driven better patient outcomes globally.
An Electronics & Telecomm Engineer, Ratish is an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow.
